I’m a freelance copywriter and web-content creator who has ghostwritten for prominent business leaders and helped set up multiple online stores. I hope to be able to use Medium to share some of my thoughts (hopefully insightful!) as I attempt to become a better human.
Here are some of my most-viewed Medium stories (updated regularly)
For many, Tableau is an interactive data visualization software that they cannot do without. With a simple click-drag-drop process to create charts, Tableau is seemingly simple to pick up and can be easily leveraged to create aesthetic charts.
Yet, at the same time, Tableau is sometimes the single-most frustrating software to use. With numerous functions hidden behind an interface that’s not exactly user-friendly, many of us run into numerous issues when what we are envisioning is different from the drag-and-drop chart created by Tableau.
And one of these frustrations stems from the difficulty in creating a multi-line chart using a…
Work-life balance seems to be what everyone is pushing for.
Mental health advocates encourage and push for individuals to take breaks amidst busy schedules. Health experts spend their time researching the negative effects excessive work schedules have on us. And productivity experts constantly push for sufficient amounts of rest in order to keep all of us in our most productive states.
And this is for good reason. All around the world, individuals are working long hours despite the improvements in technology (that’s supposed to reduce the amount of hours we have to work).
For anybody who has read articles relating to personal finances online, the advice is always similar.
Invest your money instead of keeping all of it as cash in a bank account that gives an interest less than the inflation rate.
And even though investing can be seemingly easy at times with many writers telling you to just put a portion of your salary into an exchange traded fund (ETF) monthly and “DCA” (dollar cost average), investing a significant portion of your money into things that you don’t understand can be very scary.
After all, what if the real estate market…
Our human brain perceives things interestingly.
We could be having the best time of our life at the hottest event of the year. Yet, if you accidentally drop your phone and lose all the photos taken at the end of the night or have your belongings stolen by a pickpocket, the day immediately transforms.
Your brain will probably register this day as a terrible one. The bad memories will tower over the good ones and you’ll look back on this experience as a negative one.
In short, the meme “my disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined” might become…
Republicans and vaccines are a confusing mix.
On one hand, they claim that Donald Trump deserves all the credit for the quick development and rolling out of the vaccine.
Yet, on the other hand, the very same republicans are often found accusing the Biden administration for infringing on the personal freedoms of Americans by forcing the Covid-vaccines on unwilling individuals.
As a result, a startling difference in one’s attitude towards the Covid-19 vaccines can be found between the Democrats and Republicans.
According to a poll done by the Washington Post and ABC News, 86% of Democrats have received at least…
When we begin our own side-hustle, 2 forms of income generation often come to mind.
The pay-and-receive model where consumers pay you a fixed sum and receive a product (be it an online course or a physical object) or service (like content generation or video editing etc.).
And the passive income model where we use advertising, affiliate links or platforms like this one, and stock photo websites to receive continuous payment from creating something.
However, many of us fail to realize that there is actually a third payment model — the subscription model
In the past, the number of businesses…
Every successful person out there claims that their journey would not have been possible without reading.
Elon Musk used to read 10 hours a day while growing up. Bill Gates now reads a new book every week (on average). And I aim to read 20 books every year (while I’m not exactly a successful individual, becoming a writer would definitely not be possible without all the books I’ve read).
Undeniably, people who read go through some sort of growth.
Some become better thinkers while others learn to use the facts found in these books to improve life choices. …
#TheGrindNeverStops, #SleepIsForTheWeak, #HustleCulture are all hashtags that appear everywhere now.
With the rise of the FIRE (financial independence, retire early) movement and the constant spread of success stories from friends and family on social media, the hustle culture has taken over many lives.
From doing freelance work to starting a small business, everyone on Instagram (and whatever social media you choose to use) seems to be promoting their newest side hustle and are showing off the fruits of their labour.
And when everybody seems to be finding success with their newest hustle, it might become extremely tempting for you to…
We have to work together to save the planet. This is the rallying cry for many of the world’s climate activists. We turn off our lights for Earth Day and fight against big corporations so that we can protect planet Earth.
And I’m one of those who have been repeating this claim as well. I’m using metal straws and my own cup so that I can prevent adding to the plastic waste drowning the planet. I’m recycling as much as possible and reducing my consumption just so that we can save planet Earth.
After all, it’s no secret that human…
